Sharing the Good News!
Thanks to Virginia Disciple Women, a check in the amount of $2,564 was sent June 14, 2011 for the project “Responding to Violence against Women. “
We hope to hear at a later date how these gifts have been actually used in supporting women in workshops on trauma management, recovery, or conflict resolution; support of micro-credit loans for women’s economic development; transportation for coordinators; provision of aid to a displaced family, provision of leadership for a training workshop; registration and meals for a camp focused on reducing violence and production of educational materials for use with groups and families.
A special thanks to Jennie Sue Murdoch for bringing the needs to our attention by traveling to these two countries in our Woman-to-Woman Journey in 2009.
