Christian Church in Virginia receives Quadrennial (QA) Challenge All the Regions of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) received a challenge at the IDWF Staff Fellowship in Greensboro on January 29, 2010. The challenge? If our region meets or exceeds our 2006 Mix registrations by March 1, 2010, one woman will be entered in a drawing for one of 15 room upgrades at the Sheraton Four Seasons Hotel in Greensboro. In 2006, 73 women from our state attended the 2006 Mix. We currently have 24 women registered, so we have 55 more registrations to go!
Step 1: Make a list of 10 women you know, no 12 — that's more like the 12 disciples. Step 2: Have a conversation with God. Pray. Pray for each woman. Step 3: Have a conversation with each woman. Contact each of the women and tell them, “I want you to go to QA and here's why.” Step 4: Keep the conversation going. Don't take no for an answer. Step 5: Have a conversation with the minister of the woman's church, if possible. Step 6: Pray more — and row. St. Augustine said, "Pray to heaven and row to shore." Step 7: Thank God for the opportunity to be part of the QA experience. Do you have any Quadrennial stories to share? Here's one worth sharing: District Two is providing twenty $100 scholarships to women in the district interested in attending Quadrennial. What's your story? Tell us how Quadrennial has made a difference in your faith or anything else you would like to share about your experiences at Quadrennial. Email your QA story to donnabirdct@aol.com and we will post your QA stories on our new website at www.discipleswomenva.org If you need help registering, contact your CWF President or district representative or call Sue Gordon at the Regional office at 434-846-3400.
