The resources listed below were developed primarily to help victims services providers assist human trafficking victims. They were gathered from international, federal and state government agencies and organizations, as well as from private non-profit organizations, that deal with human trafficking.
These resources are intended to provide general information and guidance for victims services providers. Your organization may have more specific procedures for dealing with human trafficking.

Government Resources
EXISTE AYUDA TOOLKIT (Source: U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime)-The goal of the Existe Ayuda project is to produce and disseminate replicable Spanish-language outreach materials to help improve the cultural competence of service providers and the accessibility of services for Spanish-speaking victims of sexual violence. These materials—glossaries, PowerPoint presentations, and other tools—will help facilitate the work of bilingual/bicultural staff, especially those who are just beginning Spanish-language programs.
IMMIGRATION OPTIONS FOR VICTIMS OF CRIMES (Source: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services)-This brochure provides information for law enforcement, heath care providers, and others on immigration options for victims of crimes, including trafficking victims.

National Advocacy Organizations Working To End Sexual Exploitation and Human Trafficking In North Carolina
The Carolina Women’s Center
Chapel Hill, NC
Mission: The Carolina Women’s Center works toward eradicating sex trafficking in the state and
worldwide through policy and advocacy efforts. The Center helps to generate research and
knowledge about trafficking practices. They raise awareness, both on campus and in the
community, about the human rights violations trafficking causes, including the mental and
physical effects on its victims and the impact on communities. The Center is a member of two
state-wide anti-trafficking coalitions: the North Carolina Coalition Against Human Trafficking and

North Carolina Coalition Against Human Trafficking (NCCAHT)
State-wide, NC
Mission: NCCAHT is a group of professionals from multiple fields that work to raise awareness
about human trafficking across North Carolina, to support efforts to prosecute traffickers, and to
identify and assist victims. In 2007, the North Carolina Coalition Against Human Trafficking

Mission: NC Stop Human Trafficking is a statewide organization whose mission is to eradicate
modern day slavery in all its forms; they work to connect individuals, community groups, and
faith-based organizations in North Carolina who fight against human trafficking to collaborate,
communicate, educate and advocate. They focus on the underlying, root causes of the problem
